Pink, yellow, peach & aqua

I've been busy with little kittens with no Momma for the past few weeks but now that things have settled down (and everyone is using the litter box!) I found some time to get back to some card making.  I saw a techniques somewhere...I honestly can't remember where...of coloring and embossed image with copics so I thought I'd give it a try.

This is what I came up with.

I'm not really in love with this card.  I think maybe it needs a border around the raised panel in a coordinating color.  Hmm...I wasn't going to try this technique again but now I'm rethinking it.

Mother's Day Card

I'm pretty sure my Mom doesn't read this blog to it's safe to post a picture of the Mother's day card I made for her :)  I'm venturing into the Copics world.   I've always loved this stamp and while it seemed really intimidating to try and color it, it was actually easier than I thought it would be.  There are lots of little lines to guide where the shading should go.  I think it's a pretty good effect, but I definitely need more practice.  I'm sure my Mom will love it.

Pink, Orange & Yellow

The weather is cold and snowy snowy so today is a good day for card making.  CR84FN has a color challenge on using pink, orange and yellow.  They are very festive, spring-like colors so I'm hoping they'll chase away the winter blues.  It is spring after all!

This is the card I created.  It's not what I originally had planned.  I have some paper with pink, orange and yellow flowers in a circle that I planned to use as a jumping off point.  However, when I got the sentiment and background finished I found that the circle was too big and you couldn't see the Thank in the sentiment.  Oh well, I think it still looks OK without the flower.

Say It In....Yellow and White

Annabelle stamps has a color challenge this week...yellow and white.  I really love a lot of the creations that their design team does.  Who knew that so many beautiful cards could be made with using only two colors?  One color really because I never seem to think that white counts :)

I found it difficult to limit myself to just two colors but I think I did pretty good.  Of course I made a Thank You card.  Actually, I made 4 of them.  Each is slightly different; the pearls were in a different spot and a couple had a different yellow shape.

Yellow, Grey, Charcoal Thank You Cards

It's time to get back into making Thank You cards for AARCS.  I've got a litter of 4 newborn kittens right now so I've been busy taking care of staring endlessly at them.  AARCS has recently started rescuing more cats so I might make some cat thank you cards in the future.

The Play Date Cafe has a Charcoal, Ash, Butter color challenge going on this week

I made the following two cards using these colors

EDIT: Oops, I guess I missed the deadline to submit for the Play Date Cafe challenge.

Birthday Card for My Brother

My last brother's birthday is this week.  I'm behind on my card making so this one is likely to arrive late.  I've been thinking that I need to start working on next year's cards now so that my family can finally get a card on time!  I guess it's the thought that counts though right?

This is another fun image from Bugaboo Stamps There are a whole lot of colors going on with this card but I think it looks pretty cheerful.  I added a bit of bling to the penguin's eye and cherry on the cupcake.  I also put some glossy accents on the cupcake icing, but it doesn't show up well in the picture.

Birthday Card for My Niece

I've seen lots of very nice cards with a window punch out and the sentiment on the inside of the card but I've never tried one before.  I thought I'd try it when I made a birthday card for my Niece.  I think it's pretty nice for a first try and it's much nicer in real life than in the pic.  I stamped the chartreuse in a circle inside the card and then stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday in silver.  I sprayed the front of the card with glimmer mist and it's very sparkly.

CR84FN has a color challenge on this week and that was the inspiration for the colors
